2020 was the year in which the Covid-19 pandemic brought not only the health system to its knees but also the entire national economic system. For months, the manufacturing sector, the Security sector, and specifically that of the production of alarm cables, have remained at a standstill.
ELAN has always remained operational. The production of alarm cables, fire resistant cables, network cables, fror cables and coaxial cables has never stopped. Despite the difficulties of the first wave, ELAN has always satisfied the requests coming from installers, distributors and designers.
The inconveniences caused by the pandemic are not over and 2021 also promises to be a complicated year. Despite this, the security sector seems to have recovered well and future forecasts bode well. The projects of installers and distributors have restarted (partly thanks to the 110% bonus) and the demand for twisted and shielded cables, fire cables, coaxial cables and network cables has not decreased.
One of the biggest unknowns of this year, however, will concern the trade fairs in attendance, which have always been a meeting point for security actors. At the moment there is no certainty regarding the main national and international events. ELAN, for its part, is careful to seize these opportunities, if the government measures of the various countries go in this direction.

– 19 – 21 September 2021 – Intersec Saudi Arabia
– 23 – 25 November 2021 – Security Milan
– January 16-18, 2022 – Intersec Dubai
Waiting for news about these trade fairs, ELAN continues its training activity. The Focus Tour, the high-level training event on fire prevention, resumes in an online version with two new appointments: Friday 26 March and Friday 23 April. The two webinars will deal with the UNI11224 technical regulatory framework and the design of special systems, with a focus on fire and evac systems.
